Windows 7 – PPTP

Windows 7 uses PPTP – which only allows 1 tunnel.  It’s not really designed for security.  Try to avoid PPTP – as it’s very weak.

IPSEC v OpenVPN

The real contender is IPSEC v OpenVPN, and IPSEC is a compromise – it operates to the lowest common denominator, which is never a good idea.  Security by committee pleases no-one.

The winner

OpenVPN.  Open source that leads the way in security and privacy.
